Bailey’s Epic NZ Ride

My name is Bailey Moore, and in 2026 I’ll be taking on the biggest adventure of my life so far cycling the entire length of New Zealand, from Cape Reinga to Bluff. At just 15 years old, this ride isn’t just about testing my endurance on the bike, but also about raising awareness and support for a cause that truly matters to me: the Aerocool Rescue Helicopter, a service that saves lives across our region every single day.

 

Over 34 days and more than 3,113 km, I’ll be pedaling through highways, rolling hills, coastal stretches, and mountain passes. Some days will be smooth, others will push me to my limits, but every kilometre will bring me closer to my goal  and every donation and message of encouragement will keep me moving forward.

Why are you doing this ride?

I’ve set myself the challenge of cycling the length of New Zealand  from Cape Reinga to Bluff  to push my limits, grow as an athlete, and raise awareness and funds for the Aerocool Rescue Helicopter.

How old are you?

I’m 15 years old.

How far will you ride each day?

I plan to ride up to 100 km a day. That usually means 6–7 hours on the road, depending on weather, hills, and stops.

How long will the whole trip take?

Around 34 days, covering over 3,113 km.

Is anyone riding with you?

This is a solo ride, but I’ll have some support for accommodation and recovery. Supporters and local riders are welcome to join me for certain sections check the Contact / Get Involved page for details.
