Hi everyone,
My name’s Bailey Moore, I’m 15 years old, and in 2026 I’ll be taking on the biggest challenge of my life so far: cycling the full length of New Zealand from Cape Reinga at the very top, all the way down to Bluff at the bottom.
That’s over 3,113 km of riding, averaging close to 100 km per day, across rolling hills, mountains, wind, rain, and (hopefully) sunshine. I’ll be doing it solo, with minimal support, relying on my training, determination, and the amazing people who back me along the way.
Why I’m Doing This
This ride isn’t just about seeing how far I can push myself. It’s about showing what’s possible with hard work and resilience and it’s also about giving back. I’ll be riding in support of the Aerocool Rescue Helicopter, an incredible service that saves lives across our region.
The Road Ahead
Right now, I’m deep into training early mornings, long rides, and building strength at The Athlete Factory. I know it’s going to be tough, but every kilometre will bring me closer to the goal.
On this blog, I’ll be sharing updates on:
- Training rides and preparation 🏋️♂️
- Daily reflections once the ride begins 🚴
- Challenges and milestones ⛰️
- Behind-the-scenes stories you won’t see anywhere else
Come Along for the Ride
This blog is here so you can follow the journey with me whether you’re a friend, family member, sponsor, or just someone who loves cycling and adventure.
Thanks for being here at the start. The countdown to Cape Reinga is on and I can’t wait to share the road with you, one kilometre at a time.
Talk soon,
Bailey 🚴♂️
